Hair extensions are just plain fun! For many, it’s a dream come true and we couldn’t be happier. If you’re thinking about getting extensions, great!
But before you rush to make your appointment, be informed and prepared.
Never be afraid to ask for certificates and qualifications of your extensionist. The hair extension industry is not regulated so some extensionists are not even qualified stylists. As reputable stylists, we proudly display our licenses and certificates. You never have to worry about our expertise!
Always start with a consultation first. (We require it.) This allows your stylist to examine your hair to determine the condition and to get a good understanding of what you want to achieve. If your hair is damaged, your stylist may recommend improving the condition of it before applying extensions. Also, sometimes it’s necessary to cut your hair prior to applying extensions to allow them to blend more naturally. This is why a consult is crucial!
Hair extensions do require some extra TLC. Yes, theydo require a bit more time to keep them looking great, but not much. If you have gone from short to long hair, you will have to get used to the length, weight and new drying time.
Properly applied, hair extension will not damage your natural hair. That’s why it’s critical to get a trained cosmetologist to do the work. This is your hair we’re talking about!
Some of the bonds may fail during the first month. This is not a cause for panic or a reflection of your stylist’s expertise, unless it’s 10-12! This is often due to weight distribution. One side of your hair is naturally thicker than the other. You may simply lose a few bonds as an adjustment. Just ask if you have questions or concerns. We’ll guide you through the initial stage easily.
And remember, not everyone is suited for hair extensions. But, if you love hair, can’t wait to try new hairstyles and enjoy the little bit of maintenance it takes to have your new look, then you’re perfectly suited to enjoy your new locks!
